Small Groups - growing in community through participation in a small group to care for one another and to encourage one another in authentic Christian living
Discipleship
A disciple is a life-long apprentice of Jesus, one who consciously seeks to become like him and to be obedient to him. Those who follow this path discover new life, abundant joy and an inner strength which can be found nowhere else.
We are all called to be Jesus' disciples, but what does this entail? What commitments are expected of us, and what are the benefits?
There are many ways of answering those last two questions, but St Birinus and St John's Church has devised a framework, called COMPASS, which is designed to help its members on their journeys of discipleship through life.
The name COMPASS suggests a means of finding direction for our lives. The letters of COMPASS spell out the various aspects of the discipleship framework. These are:-
